Mr. De Forrest "Curly" Hicks, 76, of S. Main Street Street, Adairsville passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his daughter's residence.

Mr. Hicks was born in Rome, Georgia, August 15, 1937 son of the late Cleo and Magaline Hicks. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Mannington Mills after 31 years. Mr. Hicks enjoyed browsing at flea markets, going fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty L. Hicks; brother, Den Ferguson and sister, Sharon Ferguson

Survivors include his 3 daughters and son-in-law, Debra Wright of Adairsville, Dorothy and Willie Curtis of Adairsville, and Teresa Hicks of Adairsville; 3 grandchildren, Natasha Davis, Tia and Patrick Jackson, and De Shaun Curtis; 2 great grandsons, De Andrew Davis and Connor Wright.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
