Obituary
She was a follower of Christ, an avid reader, a faithful friend, and a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. As a graduate of Cass High School Class of 1966, she also earned a CMA with a specialty in OB-GYN at the Medix School; she was a member of Grace Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. She is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Shawn Knox; father and mother, Herbert and Elease Hawkins: and nephew Micah Williams.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Connie Knox of Taylorsville; two grandchildren, Kylie and Bryant Knox; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Ralph Williams of Cartersville; brother and sister-in-law, John and Debbie Hawkins of White; nephew Ryan Williams of Acworth; nephew Easton Hawkins of Cartersville; niece Alyssa Hawkins of White; great-nephew Kannon Williams of Acworth; great-nieces Alexus Williams of Acworth and Makenna Martin of White.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 19, from 4-6 pm at Grace Baptist Church in Cartersville. The funeral, officiated by Rev. Ralph Jenkins, will beginat 6 pm, with graveside service to follow at Woffords Crossroads Baptist Church cemetery in White.
Pallbearers are Michael Alexander, Easton Hawkins, Stacy Hendrix, Billy Moss, Dwight Rediger and Ryan Williams. They are asked to meet at Grace Baptist Church at 3:30.
Her son expresses special appreciation to all of the Amedisys Hospice staff especially Janice Bagley and Misty Ruff. Also, all family and friends who helped care for her during her short illness with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. It is with your help that she was able to be cared for comfortably at home.
