Mr. Dewitt Everett, 93 , formerly residing at 610 Adairsville Pleasant Valley Road , Adairsville, GA went home to be with the Lord, Mon day, September 19, 2022 .

H e was born in Bartow County , GA, October 23, 1928 , son of the late H. B. " Hub" and Clara Hight Everett . DeWitt was the eldest member and deacon of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Everett was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Juanita Sparks Everett; his parents; grandson, Adam Blake Everett; and three sisters, Mae, Marie, and Dorothy.

He retired from Burlin gton Mills in Shannon, GA in 1987, after 38 years of service. He loved gardening, woodworking, working outside and sitting on the front porch. Mrs. Everett was paralyzed, and he took loving care of her for 15 years until her death on June 14,2011.

He is survived by h is two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Pam Everett and Dwayne and Marie Everett; grandsons, Justin and Amanda Everett, Joshua Everett; step-granddaughter, Shannon Payne Ertzberger ; two great-grandson s , Rylan and Avery Everett; and 2 step-great grandsons, Ethan and Grayson Belcher.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM from Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Reverends Randy Jackson, David Baker, Earl Abernathy and Stephen Moore officiating. H e will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers will be Justin Everett, Josh ua Everett, Jimmy Watkins, Jerry Hufstetler, Josh Erickson, Steve Abernathy Ethan Belcher, and Grayson Belcher . Honorary pallbearers Tracy Collum, Ladell Mealer, Donnie Lowery, Dillard Abernathy, Harold Rice, Carl Gay, and Jerry Jones.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 : 3 0 PM until 8 :00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
