Obituary
Mrs. Dora Coker Helton, age 101, of Stoners Road, Adairsville, passed away Saturday morning July 29, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Blairsville, GA July 8, 1916, daughter of the late Kimsey Jackson Coker and Jessie Cordelia King Coker. Mrs. Helton was a charter member for 82 years at Stoner Chapel Baptist Church. She spent her life loving and caring for her family. When she was able she enjoyed gardening and painting. Mrs. Helton is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Wylie Helton; sons, Wylie Jackie Helton and Johnny Lee Helton; daughter, Lela Thomas; sons-in-law, Arlon Thomas, Ralph Siniard, and Sammy Findley; grandsons, Jeff Siniard and Scotty Siniard; great-grandson, Daniel Head and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her loving children, Elizabeth Siniard of Adairsville, Edna Mae Findley of Adairsville, Patricia and David Smith of Adairsville, Bobbie Sue Helton of Adairsville, and Kathy and Charles Allen of Cassville; daughter-in-law, Rabun Helton of Adairsville; grandchildren, Paige Walraven, Eric and Angie Helton, Lori and Gene Godsey, and Pam and Adrian Wilson; 8 greatgrandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Fannie Bell Reece and Betty June Cook; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 2017, at 11:00AM from Stoner Chapel Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Reverends Bit Parrish, David Baker, Earl Abernathy, and Stephen Moore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Helton, Brandon Priest, Tommy Peace, Charles Coker, Adrian Wilson, and Taylor Fletcher.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
