Obituary

Mrs. Doris Evelyn Brewster Blevins, age 75, of Adairsville, GA passed away peacefully at home, June 16, 2026.

Doris was born, May 9, 1951, in Logan, West Virginia to the late Opal Ooten Brewster and Clarence Brewster. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Jerry Blevins; brothers, Harold Brewster and Paul Winston Brewster; and sister, Charlotte Lucy Brewster Estep.

Survivors include her beloved son, Al Calvert and wife, Kaylene; stepson, Dale Calvert; grandchildren, Kathryn D. Calvert, Karissa A. Calvert, Konnor A. Calvert, Dustin S. Aley, Xander C. Aley, Ethan J. Aley, Daniel Calvert and Nicole Calvert; great-grandchildren, Emily Calvert and Abigail Calvert; Manuel Castro who she loved like her own and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doris was raised in Logan, WV and later moved to Chicago, where greater employment opportunities allowed her to build a life marked by hard work and determination. After completing two years of technical school, she began working for Eastern Air Lines. Throughout her life, she held a variety of jobs, including working as a waitress and operating her own cleaning business, always taking pride in providing for herself and her family.

Her greatest joy in life was her son, Al, who was truly the light of her life. Later, Doris moved to Georgia to be closer to him and his family, cherishing the time they spent together and creating countless treasured memories.

Doris will be remembered as a selfless, caring, and giving woman whose kindness touched everyone she met. She was a devout christian and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and lived her life guided by the Lord, strong morals, values, and compassion. Her kind heart, generosity, and unwavering love for her family were among her greatest gifts, and she faithfully passed those qualities on to the generations that followed. Her legacy of love, integrity, and service to others will continue to live on in the hearts of her family.

Honoring Doris’s wishes she will be cremated and laid to rest in the Ooten Family Cemetery, Delbarton, West Virginia.
