Obituary
Mrs. Doris Lemons Harris, age 75, of Shaw Road, Adairsville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at her residence.
She was born in Calhoun, GA, on February 26, 1941, daughter of the late Harry Lemons and Willie Mae Worley Lemons. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Harris worked at Super D in Calhoun for several years, Liberty Mutual Insurance, and retired from The Bank of Adairsville. She was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family, especially when she was "winning" playing board games. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank Howard Harris.
Survivors include her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Donna Harris of Plainville and Mitchell and Rachel Harris of Calhoun; grandchildren, Cody Harris, Courtney and Isaac Goad, and Thad Harris; siblings, J.T. and Francis Poole of Marietta, Lamar and Myrtle Poole of Rome, Clinton and Glenda Poole of Rome, Henry and Sandra Lemons of Adairsville, Linda Dyer Battaglia of Adairsville, Jerry Lemons of Adairsville, Randy Lemons of Adairsville, and Neal and Debbie Lemons of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Randy Jackson, Rev. Dutch Scott, and Rev. Roger Fisher officiating while Isaac Goad and the King Family will provide musical selections. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
Pallbearers include Ronald Poole, Chris Dyer, Carman Caldwell, Brad Harris, William Smith, and Todd Lemons. Other nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
