Dorothy Ann Hamilton Baggett went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2013. Dorothy was born on December 8, 1921 in Adairsville, Georgia. She was raised in Adairsville where she and her family were active members of Oak Grove Baptist Church. For many years, Dorothy was employed by Brighton Mills, in Shannon, Georgia. She was also an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Adairsville. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church in Shannon, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest Baggett. She was also preceded in death by her brothers R.E. Hamilton, Frank Hamilton, Howard Hamilton, A.M. Hamilton and her sisters Beatrice Hamilton Shope and Margarite Hamilton Pearson. She leaves behind her brothers, Bill Hamilton and his wife Corine, and Jack Hamilton and his wife Effie. In addition, she leaves behind 2 stepdaughters, Retha Lacey and Ladelle Nielsen, step grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 4, 2013, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Roger Whorton officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Kenny Hamilton, Eddie Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Lanny Hamilton, James Blanton, Gary York, Barry Towe, and Mike Baine.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Barton Funeral Home.
