Ms. Dorothy Rene Kell Black, 76, of Rome, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, Rome Health and Rehab.

She was born in Rome, GA, December 13, 1943, daughter of the late J. L. and Mattie Lou Jackson Kell. She was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and enjoyed working with the women's jail ministries. She loved flowers and working in her gardens, was a wonderful seamstress and known for her catering, especially her wedding cakes. Ms. Black was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie Satcher; sister, Marsha Diane Fountain; brother, Larry Kell; and precious fur babies, Pudgy, Shuggy, and Nikita.

Survivors include her sons, Jody and Pam Shelly and Tommy Black; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Gamble; brother, Jimmy Kell; precious fur babies, Phoebe, Snowman, and Uma; several nieces and nephews.

Grave services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 5:00 PM at Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Following social distancing guidelines the family will receive family and friends Tuesday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chann Gamble, Dale Fountain, Rodney Fountain, Alex Fountain, Lee Satcher, and Calvin Satcher.
