Obituary
Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Cantrell Costlow, 80, of Mitchell Road, Adairsville, passed away Monday (November 4, 2013) at Fifth Avenue Health Care.
Mrs. Costlow was born in Taylorsville, Georgia, September 16, 1933, daughter of the late S. D. Cantrell and Ila Ponder Cantrell. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville. Mrs. Costlow loved crocheting, sewing and enjoyed gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Costlow; an infant sister; brother, Carl Cantrell; brother-in-law, Johnny Williams.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Peggy Costlow of Silver Creek; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Michael Sparks of Adairsville; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Beth) Costlow of Silver Creek, Rhonda (Wesley) Clayton of Silver Creek, Stephanie (Brooks) Chancey of Adairsville, Ryan(Lydia) Sparks of Chatsworth, J Bailey of Euharlee, and Nathan (Savannah) Bailey of Armuchee; 8 great-grandchildren, Will Costlow, Wyatt Costlow, Allie Clayton, Aleeah Clayton, Jay Chancey, Gray Chancey, Mason Sparks, and Carson Bailey; a brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Margaret Cantrell of Rome; sisters and brother-in-law, Emma Williams of Kingston, and Martha and Jerry Dowdy of Rome; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Taylorsville, with Rev. Kenny Rogers and Rev. Robert Chancey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Brooks Chancey, Jason Costlow, Wesley Clayton, Ryan Sparks, Greg Dowdy, Ricky Rogers, and Wayne Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Cantrell, Richie Hunter, J Bailey, Nathan Bailey, Danny Tucker, Jerry Dowdy, Greg Mealer, and the great-grandchildren, Will Costlow, Wyatt Costlow, Allie Clayton, Aleeah Clayton, Jay Chancey, Gray Chancey, and Mason Sparks.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
