Mrs. Dorothy Evelyn Cook Garland, age 86, of Highway 140, White, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 30, 2022.

She was born in Adairsville, GA, February 6, 1936, daughter of the late James Burley and Lula Bell Pearson Cook. Mrs. Garland was a faithful Christian; she was member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church and attended Faith Tabernacle Church. She was a loving wife, mother and mawmaw who adored her family. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, doing crafts and working in her garden. She was truly one of the sweetest, most loving person you could ever meet. Mrs. Garland was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard, Ronald, and Donald Cook; and son-in-law, Harry Evans.

Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Dennis Garland; daughter, Angie Reece and her husband, Stephen; son, Michael Garland; grandsons, Carlos Evans and his wife Kayla and Chris Evans and his wife Penny. great-grandchildren, Taylor Evans and Jennifer and Govanni Sicairos; Great great-grandchildren, Jovanna, Javi, and Jay Sicairos; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverends Randy Harris, Jimmy Garland, and Larry Hibberts officiating. Music will be provided by Mrs. Sally Jones Interment will follow in Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery, Rydal.

Pallbearers will be Tony Gunn, Gary Garland, Steve Ezell, David Bell, Robert Garland and Johnny Garland.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
