Mr. Douglas Huff, age 61, of Summerville, GA, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome.
He was born in Butterfly, KY, on March 10, 1950, to the late Pleasant and Anna Louise Feltner Huff. Mr. Huff was of the Christian Faith and was a member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple. He had worked as a manager at Lowes and has been a deputy sheriff in Jackson, IN. Mr. Huff loved animals, especially dogs, and had also raised horses. Mr. Huff was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Anna Clark, and 3 brothers Marion, Taylor and Lewis Huff.
Survivors include 3 sons, Leland Huff of Seymour, IN, Chris Swartzentruber of Columbus, IN, and Steve (Gwen) Swartzengruber; a daughter, Megan Huff of Summerville; 2 grandchildren, Madison Swartzengruber and Parker Huff; a brother, Phil Huff of Adairsville; 4 sisters, Dorothy Little of IN, Marie Allen of KY, Paralee Martin of OH, and Orleana Flener of Ohio; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhill Cemetery, Cartersville.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at Barton Funeral Home.
