Obituary
Mr. Dudley Elvis Higgins, age 60, of Old Highway 140, Adairsville passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the residence.
He was born in Rome, Georgia, October 11, 1956, son of the late Hershel Frank Higgins and Callie Smith Higgins. He was of the Christian Faith and had worked as a carpenter. Mr. Higgins was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and farming, and watching westerns and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dean Higgins, and a sister, Janet Hicks.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Shea and Rodney Stokes of Calhoun; two granddaughters, Mia and Sofia Stokes of Calhoun; a brother, Danny Higgins of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Daisy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Brent Higgins, Barry Higgins, Tony Smith, Emmanuel Olvera, Austin Davis, Chris Hicks, Ethan Abernathy, Jeff "Jellyhead" Hicks and Bo Carter.
The family will receive friends at Barton Funeral Home, Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
