Obituary

Mr. Dwight Allen Edwards, age 7 5 , of Adairsville passed away Fri day, September 17, 2021, at Emory University Hospital .

He was born in the Folsom Community, September 8, 1946 , son of the late J. C. "Chess" Edwards and Bessie Johnson Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church . He retired from the City of Adairsville Gas Department. Dwight was an avid Braves Fan, enjoyed deer hunting, and watching NASCAR, football, and the news . He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Gayton; and brother, James Melvin Edwards.

Survivors include his daughters, Angela (J. R.) Cudd, Sherry (Charles) Waggoner, and Debra Edwards; grandchildren, David Gray, Anthony Gray, Crystal Gray, Dusty (Tara) Waggoner, and Kase Waggoner; great-grand children , Arianna Waggoner, Destiny Gray, Danielle Gray, Brooke Inman, Jacob Jones and Landon Townsend ; brothers, Jerry Edwards and David ( Ann ) Edwards ; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held S un day, September 19 , 2021, at 2:0 0 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home , Adairsville, with Rev. Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Hayes Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Dusty Waggoner, Kase Waggoner, Michael Edwards, Derek Edwards, Zachary Edwards, and Chessley Edwards.

The family will receive friends Sun day from 12 : 3 0 PM until 2 :00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
