Obituary
Mrs. Eddie Irene Cochran Goswick, 91, formerly of College Street, Adairsville, went home to her Lord and Saviour, May 20, 2013 at Gordon Health and Rehab, Calhoun, following complications from a cerebral stroke.
She was born in Pickens County, GA, March 31, 1922, daughter of the late Lewis Wilburn Cochran and Betty Moss Cochran. Prior to her illness, Mrs. Goswick had been an active member of the Adairsville United Methodist Church. In addition to working at Penfield Chenille, she had been employed by several restaurants and cafeterias over the years, including The Adairsville Inn, Hardees, and the Bartow County School System, and was known locally for her homemade fried pies. Mrs. Goswick enjoyed cultivating flowers and vegetables in her garden, quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Leonard Goswick; first husband, Robert Keown; a brother, Joe Cochran; sisters, Marie Wilson, Coleen Cochran, Mildred Pelfrey, and Willie McGuire.
Survivors include a daughter, Bobbi Faye Silvers of Adairsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Theresa Goswick of Adairsville; sister, Kate Hawkins of Dalton; grandchildren, Brian Goswick, Jeff and Cheri Goswick, Josh and Jennifer Goswick, and Judd Goswick; 8 great-grandchildren, a great great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. William Cody and Min. Skip Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.
Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, Brian Goswick, Jeff Goswick, Judd Goswick, Josh Goswick, and great-grandson, Kyle Heath.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
