Mr. Eddie Cleveland Manning, age 74, of Manning Drive, Plainville, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, at Floyd Medical Center.

Mr. Manning was born in Gordon County, Georgia, July 9, 1947, son of the late Garnett Cleveland "G. C." and Edna Fowler Manning. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Calhoun and a veteran of the United States Army. Eddie received a PHD in Ministry from Covington Theological Seminary and was passionate to teach others the love of God. He worked as a mechanic for over 40 years and owned and operated Eddie's Garage. He loved his family, enjoyed music and playing the guitar, cars, and collecting guns. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jane Manning; daughter, Menissa Manning; son, Jason Manning; and sister, Linda Faye Rochester;

Survivors include his children, Celena Miller and Kevin and Alicia Manning; grandchildren, Cambria, Jacob, Justus, Leah, Danielle, and Luke; sister, Annie Ruth and John McBrayer; special friend, Linda Whitfield and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 23, 2021, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev Tim Baird officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery, Plainville. Pallbearers include Bruce Manning, Tim Rochester, Jamie Minor, Richard Miller, James Madden, and Will Bryant.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Eddie Cleveland Manning.
