Mrs. Edith West, age 87, of 5190 Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Adairsville, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Oakview Health and Rehab, Summerville.

Mrs. West was born in Adairsville, GA, October 20, 1927, daughter of the late Willie Rainey Fortenberry and Mamie Edwards Fortenberry. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville. Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Willie Dorace West.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dennie and Michelle Brookshire of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Terry Steward of Adairsville; 3 grandsons, D.J. Brookshire, Brandon Reed, and Brian Brookshire; a great-grandson, Rowan Brookshire and great-granddaughter, Emily Brookshire; a sister, Lurlyne Brookshire of Adairsville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 20, 2015, at 5:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Buddy Bagley officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennie Brookshire, D.J. Brookshire, Brandon Reed, Keith Reed, Terry Steward, and Anson Coker.

The family will receive friends Monday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
