Mrs. Edna Faye Bagley Smith, age 84, of 270 Stoners Road, Adairsville, passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2011 at her daughter's residence.
She was born in Gordon County, GA, August 29, 1926, daughter of the late Earl Bagley and Sallie Willerson Freeman. Mrs. Smith had retired from Floyd Medical Center where she was a nurse and enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Snow Springs Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Charles Smith; a son, Jerry Smith; 2 brothers, Richard and Glenn Freeman; a grandson, Andrew Jackson and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Pasley.
Survivors include 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra (Marion) Brasington, Cheryl (Jerry) Pasley, and Diane (Wayne) Jackson all of Adairsville; a son, Michael Smith of Adairsville; a daughter-in-law, Kay Smith of Adairsville; 14 grandchildren, Scott Brasington, Eric Brasington, Robin Brasington-McKinney, Lori Brasington-Cochran, Jason Pasley, Jody Pasley, Kim Allison, Kerry Smith, Grant Smith, Tammy Issac, Dana Webster, Susan Peeler, Sherri Wilson, Joshua Jackson; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Mildred Evans of Macon and Glenda Miles Watkins of Shannon;
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM from Snow Springs Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Stephen Cochran, Rev. Richard Webster, and Rev. David Peeler officiating. Interment will follow in Snow Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
