Mr. Edward Darrow Edwards, 82, of 1248 Thomas Bluff Road, Rome, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the residence.

Mr. Edwards was born in Rome, GA, May 30, 1931, son of the late, Guy Milton Edwards and Katie Lou Huffman Edwards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Edwards had a passion for guns and loved going fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Darice Arthur; son, Stanton Edwards; sister, Betty Edwards; brother, Telmon Edwards.

He is survived by his wife Audrey Huffman Edwards of Rome; 8 grandsons, Jeremy Edwards of Plainville, Daniel Edwards of Plainville, Corey Clifton of SC, Patrick Andrews of NC, and Eric Andrews of Plainville; 3 granddaughters, Carla Evans of KY, Anna Arthur of Atlanta, and Misty Jo Adams of Plainville; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Hardin of Cartersville, Carolyn and Jarvis Smith of Cumming, and Barbara and Frank Brackin of Roseville, CA; a brother and sisters-in-law, Russell and Faye Edwards of Gaylesville, AL; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Ken Oates officiating. Interment will follow in West Union Baptist Church Cemetery, Calhoun.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
