Mr. Edward David King, age 74, of 91 King Road, Adairsville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon, February 24, 2011.
He was born in Adairsville, GA, January 28, 1937, son of Mrs. Lillian Holcomb King and the late Charlie Clifford King. Mr. King was a member of Bread of Life Christian Center and Adairsville Masonic Lodge #168. He had retired from First Brand (Union Carbide) and enjoyed camping, fishing, and classic cars. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Teresa E. King Henson Robinson.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Eunice Charles King of Adairsville; a son, Danny King and Mary Ledford of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Michael Jones of Adairsville; his mother, Lillian King of Adairsville; a special granddaughter, Courtney Crane of Adairsville; 5 grandchildren, Amberly (Jason) Ivester, Heather (Rodger) Brown, Coty (Michelle) Henson, Shaun Jones and Dakota Jones; 3 step-grandchildren, Crystal (David) Van Hook, Robert (Tiffany) Davenport, and Levi Robinson, 3 great-grandchildren, Cole Brown, Tucker Ivester, and Wes Brown; 2 step great-grandchildren, Gracen Van Hook and Ansley Davenport; 2 brothers, R. C. King and Roy King; 4 sister, Laura McBrayer, Joy Baynes, Debbie Gilreath, and Charlene Evans and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM from Bread of Life Christian Center, White, with Rev. Max Maybern and Rev. Dennis Huskins officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pete Huskins, Little Roy King, Charles King, Adrian Harris, Corey Evans, and Jerry Maddox will serve as pallbearers while Dickie Dalrymple, Phillip Lowery, Eddie Charles, Levi Robinson, Chuck King, William Hillburn, Jerry Richmond, and Steve Henson will be honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Edward David King.
