Mr. Edward Lamar Womack, age 81, of 2410 Hall Station Road, NW, Adairsville, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, at Cartersville Medical Center.

Mr. Womack was born in Adairsville, Georgia, December 8, 1932, son of the late Ralph Edward Womack and Flonnie Mae Grogan Womack. He was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church and retired from Mannington Carpet after twenty five years of service. Mr. Womack enjoyed being active in the church Senior Friends group and also delivering Meals on Wheels. He was an avid gardener who shared much of what he grew. His most cherished times were spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Patterson Womack; sister, Grace Dodd; brother, O.V. Womack.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Linda Womack of Calhoun; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Annette and Larry Pasley of Adairsville and Janice and Ricky Witt of Adairsville; 10 grandchildren, Jammie (Mark) Chamlee, Kim (Dusty) Brown, Chad Witt, Cody (Shanna) Witt, Chris (Pennie) Davis, Tabitha (Jeff) Standley, Brandon Autry, Ryan Autry, Adam Pasley, and Selena (Dale) Williams and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Kate King of Adairsville; brothers, Byron Womack and Billy Womack both of Adairsville; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver, Tonya Blankenship.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Gary Hibberts and Rev. Loy Frix officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joe King, Bruce Womack, Kent Womack, David Womack, Hiram Wood, and Mark Womack. The Oothcalooga Baptist Church Senior Friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Edward Lamar Womack.
