Mrs. Effie Mae Culberson, aged 95, of Adairsville passed away, Sunday evening, December 10, 2017 at home.
She was born in Adairsville, Georgia, the daughter of Annie Emma Freeman Boswell and R. K. Boswell, of Adairsville. Mrs. Culberson was a long-time member of Snow Springs Baptist Church of Adairsville, where she had participated in many activities of the church, especially the Ladies Circle. She had engaged with other members in fund raising activities, which among other things, lead to the purchase of stained glass windows for the church. She was a retiree of Burlington Klopman Fabrics. Effie Mae was preceded in death by her husband John William (J.W.) Culberson, parents (Annie Emma and Richard K. Boswell), brothers, Alvin Boswell (wife Betty Jean), Elbert Boswell (wife Lita), sisters Mary Lee Seabolt (husband Lawrence), Martha West (husband Jerome), and Ruby Waldon (husband John).
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lynda and John Culberson of Adairsville, brothers Roy Boswell and Troy Boswell, sister Mildred Colston (husband Jerry Colston) all of Adairsville, sister Mattie Bell Whittemore of Calhoun, GA., and sister Lois Bradley (husband R. G. Bradley) of Fort Worth, TX.; grandson Christopher Culberson (wife Lori, and children: Aliyah, Cade, Zada, Daysha), granddaughters Jennifer (husband Mike, and children: Kristi, Taylor, Nathan), Kim Chappell (husband Mike, and children: Justin, Brandon) of Hays, Kansas, and Amy Johnson (children: Nicci Williams and Sean Evans), of Clarkston, GA.; brother-in-law, R. Earl Culberson (wife Joyce) of Adairsville, sister-in-law, Hurlene Chesser (husband Hubert) of Cartersville, GA., nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 15, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
Funeral services will be held at Snow Springs Baptist Church, Adairsville, GA., on Saturday, December 16, at 2:00 PM, Reverends Doug Mattox and James Ward officiating, with internment in the Snow Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers include nephews Ricky Boswell, Ronnie Waldon, Rusty Culberson, Leonard Culberson, Rick Bradley, Tim Whittemore, Terry West, Stanley Chesser, Bruce Colston, and Gregg Boswell. Honorary pallbearers include Dan Boswell, Charles Culberson, Bryan Colston, and Calvin Culberson.
