Mrs. Elaine Johnson Kent, age 74, Adairsville passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Cartersville Medical Center.

She was born in Calhoun, Georgia, January 6, 1947, daughter of the late Delmas Johnson and Francis Wilkey Mincey. Mrs. Kent was of the Baptist faith and retired from Mohawk Industries. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was happiest when she had her family together, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Billie Jean Womack; and brother, Mike Mincey.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, John William Kent, III; son, John William Kent, IV and wife Connie; daughter, Kimberly Bramlett and husband Steve; grandchildren, Kimberly (Derek) Wigodinski, Grey Kent, Daulton Kent, Sarah Kent, Aaron Brito, and Miranda Brito; great-grandchildren, Ellie, Atticus, Jonas, Brodie, Marley, and Haley; sisters, Vonna Artemis and Sheila Mitchell; brothers, Steve Mincey and Mick Mincey; special friends, Lisa McClure Hice and Melissa Brito; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverends Jim Pinkard and Kyle Coker officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Grey Kent, Daulton Kent, Kent Womack, Bruce Womack, Aaron Brito, and Isidro Brito. Honorary pallbeaers include Billy Womack, Byron Womack, and Bobby Hazelwood.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 Pm at the funeral home.
