Elizabeth Jarrett, 81, went peacefully to the Lord on Saturday, May 25.
She was born on June 6, 1931 in Bartow County and resided in Cartersville, GA. She was a member of First Christian Church, Adairsville, GA. Retired from Gayla and Lord, she also worked and volunteered for the Salvation Army for ten years.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Nancy Wright Mauldin and Lloyd Ballard Mauldin of Cartersville, GA; beloved grandsons John Matthew Mauldin (Tabatha) of Signal Mountain, TN and Phillip Benjamin Mauldin (Leslie) of Cartersville; and adored great grandchildren Riley Elizabeth, Ella Scot, Jackson Wright, and Benjamin Hayes Mauldin; brother Gene Murphy, sisters Odell Cantrell and Linda Lanham, and nieces and nephews and her loving friend and caregiver Barbara Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Lollie Hammonds Murphy; brothers Bill Murphy, Lee Murphy, Delano Murphy, Harvey Murphy and Sister Louise Partee.
Elizabeth was a gentle, kind-hearted woman who appreciated the simple things in life. She enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors and could turn an ordinary plant into something extraordinary. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family especially her four great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She so dearly loved her favorite companion, dog for many years, Cassie. Elizabeth was a beautiful example of faith, family, and love for everyone who knew her and will be missed greatly. Her strong faith in the Lord and giving heart will live on through her children.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 and Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30 at R Dudley Barton and Son's Funeral Home and Chapel (115 S. Main Street Adairsville, GA) followed by burial officiated by Minister Danny Pelfrey at Connesena Church Cemetery.
