Mrs. Ella Ruth Pressley Manning, age 92, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at The Oaks in Fairmount.

Mrs. Manning was born in Bartow County, GA, on August 4, 1931, daughter of the late Henry Grady Pressley, Sr. and Lillian Cowart Pressley. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert T. Manning; sisters, Katherine Strickland and Adeline Evans; and brothers, Emmett Pressley, Wallace Pressley, and H.G. Pressley, Jr. Ella was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful Christian. She was a member of Plainville Unity Baptist Church where she was past song leader and active in the WMU. She worked in food services and retired from the Gordon County School Systems. She cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Norris "Freddy" Manning and Bruce and Mary Manning; grandchildren, Shayna Ragan (Jesse), Breana Manning, and Matthew Manning; great-grandson, Colt Ragan and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Reverend Clark Bunch officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery Adairsville. Pallbearers include Gene Grisham, Von Garland, Michael Searcy, Jim Miller, Bo Nicholson, Millard Payne and Jacob Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
