Mrs. Ellen Odom Pelfrey, age 76, of Old Calhoun Road, Plainville, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019.

She was born in Rockmart, GA, April 30, 1942, daughter of the late Bamer Odom and Josephine Shepherd Odom. She was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ. Mrs. Pelfrey was an avid reader, amazing cook, and gifted seamstress. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Ellen will be dearly missed. Mrs. Pelfrey was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Marlin Pelfrey; brothers, David and Marlin Odom; and sisters, Beatrice Strickland and Shirley Blalock.

Survivors include her children, Lawayne and Betsy Pelfrey of Silver Creek, Tracey Pelfrey of Plainville, Monique and Mike Young of Fairmount, and Eric Pelfrey of Plainville; grandchildren, Hannah Ross, Erica Pelfrey, Austin Pelfrey, Aaron Pelfrey, Sarah-Kate Pelfrey, Marlee Pelfrey, and Taylor Young; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles and Shirley Odom and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Adairsville Church of Christ with Ministers Rick Lawson and Steve McCaslin officiating. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery, Plainville. Family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home.
