Mrs. Emma Bal Johnson, age 94, of Calhoun, GA, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, December 31, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by family and friends.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Worth County, GA, October 10, 1931, daughter of the late Thomas and Rachael Summerville Watson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charlie William Johnson, three sons, Roy William Johnson, Charles Johnson, Jr., and James Russell Johnson, a daughter, Shelia Ann Collins, and her siblings, Benjamin Watson, Thomas Watson, Jr., Charles Watson, Jesse Mae Watson, Jeanette Ladner, Lola Mae Christian, Louise McSear, Martha Pess, Mary Watson, Jean Morgan and Billy Watson. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and especially enjoyed going fishing.
Survivors include her companion and good friend, Billy Bradford, and her loving dog, “Little Man”; a daughter, Helen Mulkey of Fairmount; her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy (Tina) Johnson, and Allen (Jeanette Pack) Johnson of Calhoun; 17 grandchildren, over 43 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren; life long friends, Alfred and Linda Hall; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers include Tina Lomax, Steven Shroud, Tim Snyder, Seth Snyder, Hunter Hollis, Anthony Merritt, Alan Merritt, Charles Wilson, and Anthony Parker, Jr., while honorary pallbearers will be Doug Mulkey, Marvin Hollis, Grant Gollner, John Williams, Chris Selvidge, Keith Wilson, Sr., Keith Wilson, Jr., David Johnson, Dakota Johnson, and Charles David Johnson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
