Mrs. Eunice Gay Carney, age 85, of Adairsville passed away Wednesday morning October 30, 2019, at her residence.

Mrs. Carney was born in Rome, Georgia, November 4, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph Lee Gay and Alice Johnson Gay. She was member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church. She enjoyed embroidering and was an avid reader. Mrs. Carney was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Carney; father of her children, Joel Beard; and grandson, Avery Perkinson.

She is survived by her children, David Beard, Gay Holt, Darlene Cox and her husband Albert, Laurie Beard, and Lisa Owens and her husband Ronald; brothers, Barry Gay and his wife Bobbie and Carl Gay and his wife, Annette; sister, Donnis Swinford; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild being the 5th generation; and several nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 1:30 pm at Oothcalooga Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Albert Cox and Rev. Barry Gay officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
