Mr. Everett Eutrell Evans, age 83, of 158 Old Mill Road, Rydal, passed away Sunday morning, January 16, 2011 at Gordon Hospital.

He was born in Bartow County, July 18, 1927, son of the late Donald A. and Ruby Jones Evans. Mr. Evans was a member and deacon of Glade Baptist Church. He had retired from General Motors after 33 years of service, in addition to being a cattle farmer. Mr. Evans was a member of the Bartow County 'Coon Hunters Club and an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting all types of game. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Dixon Evans; a brother, Billy Evans; 2 sisters, Natalie Thurman and Peggy Adcock.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Lavone Evans of Rydal, Stanley and Julie Evans of Calhoun, and Randy and Darlene Evans of Rydal; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Donald Law of Cartersville, and Deborah and Robert Helton of Adairsville; 9 grandchildren, Kevin and Portis Law, Alicia and Mitch Dooley, Kathy Robinson, Jason and Amanda Evans, Josh Evans, Vincent Evans, Nicholas Spradlin, Dawn Price, and Clint Helton, ; 11 great-grandchildren, Connor Law, Brylee Law, Bailey Robinson, Taylor Helton, Gage Price, Chase Helton, Haley Helton, Chandler Helton, Justin Dooley, Josh Dooley, and Grant Dooley; a brother, Anthony Evans of Rydal; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 4:00 PM from Glade Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Hibberts and Rev. Jason Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Hayes Church Cemetery. Kevin Law, Connor Law, Jason Evans, Josh Evans, Marvin Dixon, Mitch Dooley, Jay Evans, Greg Adcock and Grant Dooley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Glade Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
