Mrs. Eva Mae "Yvonne" Lee Laney, age 94, of Old Clements Road, Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Floyd Hospital.

She was born in Centre, Alabama, May 29, 1920, daughter of the late Jessy Thomas Lee and Luther Pink Watts Lee. Mrs. Laney was a member of Rush Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked for Floyd County School System for eighteen years in the cafeteria at Model School. Mrs. Laney, along with her husband James, also owned and operated Ball Park Drive-In in Centre for many years. Mrs. Laney was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James A. Laney, Sr.; sisters, Lula McGather, Margaret Cromer, and Anne Nelson.

Survivors include her sons, James "Jim" A. Laney, Jr. and fiancé, Faye of Cartersville and Thomas "Tom" Wayne Laney and wife, Regina of Shannon; grandchildren, Jayme and Kristy Laney, Joshua Laney, Darcy and Chad Liddle, Seth and Jennifer Laney, and Jessica and Kyle Carney; a special niece, Pat McDaniel; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; caregivers, Margaret Brannon and Margaret Wilson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Rush Chapel United Methodist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Larry Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her grandsons Jayme Laney, Joshua Laney, Seth Laney, Chad Liddle, Kyle Carney and Matthew Laney will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Robbins, Thad Rush, Tommy Armstrong, Robert Browning, James Browning, Tommy Jones, Matthew Smith, and John Wiggins.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Rush Chapel United Methodist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made in honor of Mrs. Laney to Rush Chapel United Methodist Church.
