Obituary
Mrs. Frances Stiles Benson, age 81, of Spring Place Road, Rydal passed away Sunday morning June 19, 2016.
Mrs. Benson was born in Lafayette, GA, October 15, 1934, daughter of the late Daniel and Ann Laura Collins. A devote Christian, she loved the Lord and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville and attended Boone Ford Baptist Church, Calhoun. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who cherished her time spent with her family. A talented quilter, she made many beautiful quilts for her family. She enjoyed singing and playing the keyboard, and watching all the beautiful birds that gathered on her porch and the yard. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband and father of her children, Charles Stiles and second husband, Curtis Benson; sister, Brenda Ballard; brothers, Harold, William, and Lester Collins.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Gloria and Jim Curtis of Douglasville and Donna White of Blue Ridge; sons and daughter-in-law, Dale and Sheila Stiles of White, Allen and Wesley Stiles of Rydal, and Ronald "Hoss" Stiles of Fairmount; special great- grandson, Blaze Stiles; grandchildren, Amanda Barbee, Ben Stiles, Charlie Stiles, Mieke Curtis, Clayton Curtis, Laurin Curtis, April Niemeyer, Anthony Garland, Austin Payne, Katie Reid, Shannon Stiles, and Ronald Stiles; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Louise Chastain of Lafayette, Janell Caceres of Lafayette; brother, Johnny Collins of Lafayette and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Gary Quarles and Rev. Earl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Glade Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Ben Stiles, Charlie Stiles, Clayton Curtis, Anthony Garland, Caleb Segars, Blaze Stiles, Vernon Smith, and Barry Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
