Mr. Francis Young, age 68, of 531 East Pleasant Valley Road, NW, Adairsville, passed away Friday afternoon, March 4, 2011, at the residence.

He was born in Chatsworth, GA, December 30, 1942, son of the late Seaborn and Parthena Blankenship Young. He attended Arm of God Church in Waleska. Mr. Young was always a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Junior Young and Donald Young; a grandson, Daniel Young.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Joyce Redd Young of Adairsville; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, James (Virginia) Young of Adairsville, Steve (April) Young of Adairsville, and Kenny Young of Canton; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (Jimmy) Ragland of Adairsville and Joanie (Shone) Stewart of Adairsville; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; a brother, Eugene "Toby" and Helen Young; a sister-in-law, Betty Young and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Stout and Rev. Cary Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Towe Chapel Cemetery, Adairsville. Charlie Lockridge, Tony Lyles, Ron Dickerson, Terry Edwards, Dennis Mitz, and Shane Childers will serve as pallbearers while Dale Hall and Jeff Green will be honorary pallbearers

The family will receive friends at Pleasant Valley Full Bible Church, Saturday after 5:00 PM until 12:00 PM Monday.

R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Francis Young.
