Mr. Franklin Kenneth Pelfrey, 81, of May Street, Adairsville passed away Friday (October 18, 2013) at the Golden Living Center, Rome.

Mr. Pelfrey was born in Adairsville, Georgia, July 6, 1932, son of the late Samuel Fred Pelfrey, Sr and Ella Dean Pelfrey. He was a member of the First Christian Church Adairsville and the United States Air Force having served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Pelfrey enjoyed building anything with wood and loved to tinker and repair anything he could find broke. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayne Pelfrey; 2 brothers, Samuel David Pelfrey and Fred Pelfrey, JR.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Shirley Pelfrey of Adairsville; 2 sons, Dean Pelfrey of Adairsville and Garry West of FL; a daughter, Gale West of International Falls, MN; a special daughter-in-law, Angie Pelfrey of Adairsville; 4 grandchildren, Chris Pelfrey, Jeremy Pelfrey, Jessica Adams, and Heather Haygood

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 20, 2013, at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church of Adairsville, with Min. Danny Pelfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
