Mrs. Fredda Mae Malone, age 85, of Princeton Avenue, Adairsville, GA passed away Saturday evening, April 5, 2014 at Floyd Medical Center.
She was born in Calhoun, GA, September 8, 1928, daughter of the late, Jum Owens and Mattie Kay Borders Owens. Mrs. Malone was a member of the Adairsville First Christian Church, Ladies Bible Study, and past member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed painting, was an exceptional seamstress who loved sewing and knitting, and most treasured being with her family. Mrs. Malone was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Malone on February 15, 1996; infant son, Shaun Patrick Malone; sisters, Pansy Penfield and Marie Weaver
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia and Miles Scott of Adairsville and Susan Ann Malone of Canton; grandchildren, Patrick and Marie Darby Scott of Adairsville, Jeremy and Elizabeth Jarrett Scott of Adairsville, Jon and Andrea Duffy Scott of McDonough, Genie Parker Hurst and David Hurst of Adairsville, Janie Beth Parker Burgess and Andrew Burgess of Cartersville, and Joshua Parker and Rachel Townsend Parker of Fairmount; great- grandchildren, Andrew Scott, Katelyn Scott, Jarrett Scott, Jessa Lynn Parker, and Cash Jackson Burgess; nieces and nephews, Owens Weaver, Janice Weaver, Pattie Penfield Williams, and Norman Penfield.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Danny Pelfrey officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the historical Barton Funeral Home on the hill.
