Mr. Frederick Ramon Carreathers, 48, of Poplar Springs Road, Adairsville, GA, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016, at Floyd Hospital.

Mr. Carreathers was born January 11, 1968, in Rome, Georgia, to Mary McConnell Carreathers and the late Joseph Dennis Carreathers. A strong and determined person, he always fought his physical challenges following a cardiac and respiratory arrest at the age of 16 months. Ramon continuously beat the odds that were against him. Because of his miraculous survival, his story was shared nationwide and he was a featured on "That's Incredible." He was a member of Kaigler Chapel United Methodist Church and had worked in the fast food industry. He lived his life to the fullest, brought joy to many lives, and will be deeply missed by those who loved him.

Preceded in death by his father, survivors include his mother, Mary Carreathers, of Adairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Jewell and Joseph Smith, of Cartersville; sisters, Michelle Carson, of Kennesaw, Tami and Calvin Salters of Durham, NC, and Tameika Hamler of Cincinnati, OH; uncles and aunts, J.D. and Martha McConnell, Nelson and Thelma McConnell, William and Erma McConnell, Ernest and Sandra Bailey, and Min. Paul and Johnequia Carreathers; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Ruby Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers include Eric Williams, Deric Williams, Franco Conte, Linares Carson, Dorian McClure, Demetrius McClure, Marcus McConnell, Sean McConnell, and Lynn Wilkey.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home.
