Obituary
Mrs. Grace Cowart Adcock, 96, of the Folsom Community, passed away peacefully at home Monday, March 13, 2017.
She was born in Adairsville, GA April 24, 1920, daughter of the late John B. "Jack" Cowart and Mary L. Stephens Cowart. Mrs. Adcock was a devout Christian and member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She cherished her church and her neighbors. She loved her family, especially cooking for them. She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther A. Adcock on January 15, 2003; sisters, Alma Richardson and Lillie Pratt; brothers, A.B. Cowart and Douglas Cowart; and son-in-law, Henry Boswell.
Survivors include her children, Johnnie Sue Boswell, Doyle and Mary Adcock, and Dearl and Lydia Adcock all of Adairsville; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren; 7 sisters, Jackie Cowart, Martha Ann Sewell, Marian Shook, Bobbie Wyatt, Patsy Vines, Sarah Shuler, and Carolyn Cowart; brother, Hughlon Cowart and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 2:00 PM from Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Barry Adcock and Rev. Gregg Free officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral. Interment will follow in Hayes Cemetery. Pallbearers include her grandsons, Brian Adcock, Danny Higgins, Ashley Black, Gus Adcock, Jacob Garrett, and Nathan Adcock.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Creek Baptist Church.
