Mrs. Grace Womack Dodd, age 81, formerly of 171 Kerce Road, Kingston, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Winthrop Manor Nursing Home, Rome.

Mrs. Dodd was born on April 15, 1931, in Gordon County, daughter of the late Ralph Edward and Flonnie Mae Grogan Womack. Mrs. Dodd was a member of Blue Pond Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. Dodd and a brother, Vaughnell Womack.

Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Fred Cronon of Kingston and Shelia and Kenneth Wood of Kingston; 3 special grandsons, Hiram (Wendy) Wood, Jamon (Megan) Wood, Benjamin Cronon, all of Kingston; 3 great-grandchildren, Michaella, Michael, and Audrey Grace Wood of Kingston; 3 brothers, Edward Womack of Adairsville, Billy Womack of Adairsville and Byron Womack of Adairsville; a sister, Kate King of Adairsville and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, August 9, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. at Blue Pond Baptist Church, Rome with Rev. Jerry Cowart. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
