Mrs. Gwendolyn Reece Cooper, age 87, of Cartersville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 8, 2023.

Mrs. Cooper was born in the Pleasant Valley Community of Adairsville, Georgia, October 29, 1935, daughter of the late Horace Major Reece and Ruby Cochran Reece. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Louie Hugh Cooper; 3 sons, Donald Hugh Cooper, Phillip Allen Cooper, and Randal Eric Cooper; and 3 brothers, Marvin Reece, Jimmy Reece and Tony Reece. Gwendolyn was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her day working puzzle books, watching game shows, and visiting with her family. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her 4 sons, Ricky Cooper, Tyrone Cooper, Gregory Cooper, and Justin Cooper and wife Amber; 3 daughters, Machelle Pickel and husband William, Susan Oakes and husband Cliff, and Lisa Thomasan (Nick Cooley); grandchildren, Erin Jackson and husband Cedric, Joshua Pickel (Chelsea Gray), Cheyenne Swinney and husband Paul, Zachary Oakes, and Jeff Cooper; great-grandchildren, Levi and Landon Cooper and Axle Pickel; sister, Betty Jo Hazelwood and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville with Reverend Tommy Coker officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers include Jeff Cooper, Nick Cooley, Joshua Pickel, Donnie Reece, Mike Reece, and Paul Swinney. Honorary pallbearers will be Cedrick "C.R." Jackson, Zachary Oakes and Ronald Young.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville.
