Obituary
Mr. Harold Grant Burnette, age 78, of Rome Road, Plainville, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Floyd County, GA September 29, 1937, son of the late Marvin Grant Burnette and Willie Mae Sharp Burnette. Mr. Burnette has been a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1956, served as a deacon and also the organist. He was an electrician and retired from Shaw Industries as a plant engineer. Mr. Burnette cherished time spent with his family and friends. He loved to collect and restore antique cars and enjoyed being outside and working in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Grant Burnette and Willie Mae Burnette Williams; son, Charles Michael Burnette; sister, Juanita West and sister-in-law, Brenda Easterwood.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, JoAnne King Burnette of Plainville; daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Barry Tuttle of Adairsville and Patty and Ronnie Turner of Rome; grandchildren, Meigan Hollingsworth, Grant Hollingsworth, Jackson Wright, and AnBreia Wright; brother, Glenn and Theresa Burnette of Rome; sisters, Becky and Lee Garlin of Adairsville, and Brenda Fowler of Plainville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Doug Fowler of Adairsville, Betty and Waymon Dutton of Plainville, Jerry and Carole King of Rome, and Edna Brown of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Adairsville with Rev. Roger Fisher and Rev. Jackie Clayton officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy Brown, Frank Moorehead, Mitchell King, Steve King, Bruce King, and Gary Fowler. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Burnette, Doug Fowler, Jerry King, Waymon Dutton, David Frix, Lee Garlin, Troy Autry, Vaughn King, Fain King, Gene Hufstetler, and Ranford Wright.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Barton Funeral Home.
