Mrs. Helen Anne (Tate) Davenport, age 85, of Calhoun, GA passed away peacefully Thursday evening, September 7, 2023, at The Fountains in Calhoun.

Helen Anne was born in Adairsville, Georgia, January 3, 1938, daughter of the late Henry Grady Tate and Lily Ada (Shope) Tate.  She was member of Belmont Baptist Church. Mrs. Davenport was an administrative assistant and retired from the Gordon County School System after several years. She enjoyed visiting with her family and traveling. Helen Anne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Davenport, sisters and brothers, Ira Mae Tate Stephens (Edwin), JB Tate, Martha Tate Stone (Billy), Henry Doyle Tate (Millie), Eva Tate Richardson (Tommy), Lawrence Tate (Willie Mae), Richard Vinson Tate (Madge), Betty Ruth Tate Godfrey (James) and Mary Francis Tate; and nephew, Tommy Tate.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Ronald Stephens, Austin Stephens, Sharon Ann Tate Cobb, James Douglas Tate, Nancy J. Tate-Gagat, Regan Stone, Anne Stone Kelley, Ray Stone, Lawrence Richardson, Linda Richardson Terrill, Lynn Richardson, Allen Tate, Michael Tate, Tate Godfrey, and Teresa Godfrey Norman; special friends, Geraldine Bennett and Donna Bowling; her beloved cat, Miss Kitty.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 2:30 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Brandon Bishop officiating, and Ms. Carmen Green will be providing the musical selections. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM.  Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Ronald Stephens, Austin Stephens, Ray Stone, Allen Tate, Larry Kelley, and Charlie Baker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Regan Stone, Lawrence Richardson, and Michael Tate.

The family wishes to thank the staff at The Fountains, Care at Home, and Amedisys Hospice for their loving care in her last days.
