Obituary
Mrs. Helen Garrett Young, age 68, of 411 Highway, Rydal, passed away Thursday evening, December 1, 2016, at Cartersville Medical Center.
She was born in Talking Rock, GA, February 14, 1948, daughter of the late John and Grace McDaniel Garrett. Mrs. Young was a member of Stamp Creek Baptist Church. She cherished time spent with family, especially all of the grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed fishing, and going to the dirt track races. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Grady, Guy, Bill, John, and Jerry Garrett and a sister Patsy Ivey.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Harvey Young of Rydal; sons and daughters-in-law, James Austin Young, SR and Becky Young of Rydal and Timothy Charles Young and Tammie Young of White; grandchildren, Matthew Ellis, Andrew Young, Austin Young, Amber Young, Samantha (David) Lenderson, Amber (Cody) Vanwagner, Lane Young, and Karri Young; great-grandchildren, River Durley, Rain Young, Tiffany Ellis, Gypsy Vanwagner, Chris Lenderson, Nick Lenderson, and Zoey Lenderson; sister, Lillian Garrett; brothers, Larry and Wendy Wilkerson-Garrett and Edward and Debbie Garrett and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 2:00 PM from Stamp Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Keith Wood officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, is in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Helen Garrett Young.
