Mr. Henry Alton Brookshire, age 92, of Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Adairsville, passed away November 30, 2014, at the residence.

Mr. Brookshire was born in Cassville, GA, November 2, 1922, son of the late William F. "Bill" Brookshire and Emma Ingram Brookshire. He was a member of Stoner Chapel Baptist Church and retired from Galey & Lord. Most people know him as the lawnmower man; there wasn't one that he couldn't fix. He did enjoy working on small engines but mostly loved being with his family. Mr. Brookshire was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Annie Lou Abernathy.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Lurlyne Fortenberry Brookshire; children, Debra and Thomas Solomon of Cartersville, Denna Hefner of Adairsville, Dennie Brookshire of Rome, and Eunice and Ed Coker of Adairsville; grandchildren, Bobbie Steward, Dennie Brookshire, II, Ray Coker, Anson Coker, Denise Blaylock, Dana Brookshire, Dewayne Coker, TJ Solomon, and Krista Price; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville, with Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include TJ Solomon, Thomas Solomon, Legare Price, Jeff Davis, Terry Steward, and Dennie Brookshire, II. Honorary pallbearers include Randy McClure and Dewayne Lindsey.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
