Obituary

Mr. Herbert Franklin Williams, 8 2 , of Adairsville passed away Mon day evening, September 20, 2021 , at Floyd Medical Center .

H e was born in Pine, Missouri , March 28, 1939, son of the late Benjamin Williams and Margaret Jenkins Williams. He attended Couch High School in Couch, Missouri. After high school he worked at St. Louis Ford Motor Company from 1957 until 1961 when he joined the United States Army. Mr. Williams served in 25 th I nfantry Division from 1961 until 1966 when he was honorably discharged. A fter the service he moved to Georgia where he met the love of his life Marlene. He was employed by Ideal Rollers until retirement. Mr. Williams attended New Hope Baptist Church as a child and was a member of Oothcalooga Baptist Church. He was also a member Adairsville Masonic Lodge F & AM 168, American Legion Calhoun Post 0047 and V. F. W. Post 5376.

Herbert and Marlene together had one son, Stanton (Sarah) Williams, but he became the father to David Autry, Kay (Russell) Kown, C. L. Autry, Angela (Albert) Hilburn, and Susann (Dean Feller) Thomas who he raised as his own. He was then blessed with 18 grandchildren, Cheyenne Williams, Colby Williams, Brandon Autry, Ryan Autry, Tabitha (Jeff) Standley, Angie (Tim) Shaw, Crystal (David) Roden, Kara Kown, Michael Gayton, Dustin Autry, Hunter (Leslie) Hilburn, Stetson (Lyric) Hilburn, Amanda (Casey) Ingram, Tyler Thomas, Joseph Rickett, Sam Rickett, and Wyatt York; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Calvin W illiams, Leonard Williams, Donald Yarbor, and Tommy Yarbor .

Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death b y a son, Thomas Darrell Autry; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Kown; and brother, Ronald Yarbor.
F uneral services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 , at 2 :00 PM at Victory Temple Church of God, Calhoun with Reverends Dennis Childers, Jeff Dutton and Jim Pinkard officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 1 :00 A M until 2:00 PM at Victory Temple Church of God, Calhoun. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery, Calhoun with Military and Masonic Grave Rites . Pallbearers will David Green, Jr., Anthony Shane West, Brad Harris, Larry Pratt, Albert Hilburn, and Russell Kown. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
