Mr. Herbert William "Herbie" Phillips, Jr, age 38, of Rome, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Emory University Hospital.

He was born in Rome, GA, on April 30, 1980. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Broadus and Mary Tate and Lonie and Ruth Phillips.

Survivors include his parents, Barbara and Frank Atkins; children, Gaige Phillips, Hayden Phillips, and Kyrstyn Phillips; father, Herbert William Phillips; sister, Karen Gravitt, Kimberly McCullough, and Kerry Culberson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Leonard Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Morning View Cemetery, Rome. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
