Mr. Howard Newton Carver, age 82, of Rome, passed away Friday, February 28, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by the love of his family.
Mr. Carver was born in Bartow County, GA, February 12, 1944, son of the late Harry R. Carver and Mrs. Essie Mae Greene Carver. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Gary, Larry, and Jerry Carver; sisters, Phyllis Carver, Shirley Caldwell, Mary Watson, Martha Bradley and Gail Moore,. A true cowboy at heart, Howard grew up and spent his youth in Adairsville, where he fully embraced the traditions. He was well-known throughout the community for his lifelong love of horses and mules, finding his greatest joy in the steady rhythm of wagon rides and the camaraderie of wagon trains. An avid outdoorsman who found peace while camping under the stars, Howard also had a special bond with the Blue Heelers he raised over the years. Following a long and dedicated career, he eventually retired from the trucking company, trading the long hauls of the highway for the quiet comforts of the life he loved so dearly.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Carver; a son, Andy Carver; chosen children, Jennifer Breeden (Jeff) and John King; grandchildren, Conner Brock (Rachel), Kelsey Shipman(Dylan), Sarah-Kate Pelfrey, Marlee Cowart(Bryson); great-grandchildren, Tucker, Noah, and Iris Kate; sister, Janet Carver; furr-babies, Sadie Mae, Ani-Lou, Charlie Joe, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
