Obituary

Mr. James Franklin Alexander, age 92, of Adairsville, went peacefully to his heavenly home on February 12, 2025.

James was born in Cedartown, Georgia, February 5, 1933, son of the late Justus Lafayette Alexander and Minnie Bell Adcock Alexander Long. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hampton "Hamp" Alexander, Sr. James was a dedicated lifetime member of the Adairsville Church of God, where he also served as a past Sunday school teacher. His love for bible study was evident throughout his life. Professionally, James retired from Lockheed Martin, where he was a master machinist and planner. His service to his country was marked by his time in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, and he was also a member of the United States Army baseball team and Adairsville American Legion Post 245. A fan of the Atlanta Braves, James also enjoyed fishing in his leisure time. He was a man who always believed in helping others and giving back to good causes.

Survivors include his children, Lamar Alexander and Anthony Alexander; grandchildren, Kathryn Alexander Li and husband Kelvin, Brad Alexander and wife Ashley, and Ashley Alexander; great-grandchildren, Faraday Li, Camden Alexander and Addison and Boston Alexander; nieces, nephews, and dear cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 3:00PM from the Adairsville Church of God with Pastor Ken Coomer officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00PM until the hour of the funeral. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville.

Pallbearers will be Brad Alexander, Camden Alexander, Hamp Alexander, Jr., Clinton Hight, Terry Edwards, and Ronald Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Alexander and Boston Alexander.

The family wishes to thank Morning Pointe of Calhoun and Heartlite Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.
