Mr. James Gary Evans, age 67, of 1872 Highway 140, Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Evans was born in Rome, GA, September 5, 1948, son of the late James Wesley and Buna Crowder Evans, and was raised in Shannon, GA. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, worked with Galey & Lord Industries for over thirty years, and later retired from the Bartow County Water Dept. as county inspector. He enjoyed farming, fishing and loved spending time with family.
Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Sheila Sparks Evans, with whom he would have celebrated his 49th anniversary on July 1st; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sonya and Billy Noble of Cartersville, and Alicia and Mike Brown of Adairsville; a son Jamey Evans of Adairsville; a sister, Glenda Phillips of Shannon; and 2 grandsons, Will and Jake Noble, mother-in-law, Grace West Sparks; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Brent Tatum and Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers include Melvin Kilgore, Dwayne Everett, Max Crowder, Steve Brown, Will Noble, Jake Noble, Billy Noble, and Mike Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Everett, Ted Everett, and the deacons of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Saturday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville, from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour.
