Mr. James Doyle Harmon, age 84 , of Fairmount, passed away Wednes day, February 8 , 202 3, surrounded by his loving family .

H e was born in Waleska, Georgia, March 2, 1938 , son of the late Robert Olin Harmon and Angnes Mable Jenkins Harmon . Mr. Harmon is also preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Anna Lee Elrod Harmon; late wife, Margaret Raines Harmon; and great-grandson, Kaiden Franklin. Mr. Ha r mon was of the Christian faith and veteran of United States Army. He retired from Lockheed Martin with over 20 years of service. James loved his family and cherished their time spent together. He was a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan, enjoyed working with wood, and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include his daughter s , Angie Harmon, Sherry (Bart) Sears, Bridgette (Randy) Gray and Kim (Corey) Sutton; grandchildren, Leigh (Nicole) Reed, Robbie Reed, Chelsea (Sawyer) Landers, Jacob (April) Franklin, Jessica (Morgan) McDaniel, Hunter Sears, Emma Sutton, Collin Sutton, and Connor Sutton; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Fri day, February 1 0 , 202 3 , at 1 :00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Bramblett officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Log Methodist Church Cemetery . Pallbearers will be Leigh Reed, Robbie Reed, Sawyer Landers, Jacob Franklin, Morgan McDaniel, Hunter Sears, Collin Sutton and Connor Sutton.

The family will receive friends Fri day from 1 1 :00 A M until 1 :00PM at Barton Funeral Home.

In honor of James's unwavering passion and commitment to the University of Georgia Bulldogs, the family has asked for everyone to wear their favorite red and black in remembrance.
