Mr. James Ivan Satterfield, 55, of Joe Frank Harris Parkway, Adairsville, went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 19, 2014.
Mr. Satterfield was born in Rome, Georgia, February 2, 1959, son of Jean Sharpe Satterfield and the late Bobby Joe Satterfield. Ivan graduated from Adairsville High School in the class of 1977. After graduation he served four years in the United States Air Force. He was employed with Northwest Georgia Paving and spent numerous years working in manufacturing and trucking. Ivan was a member of CanaanLand Christian Center where he preached, played bass guitar and sang with the Parker Trio. He loved the simple things in life and enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR and his family. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Garnie and Ruby Satterfield and Albert and Mattie Bell Sharpe.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Delilah Adcock Satterfield of Adairsville; mother, Jean Sharpe Satterfield of Adairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Myra and Arthur Jenkins of Adairsville, brothers and sisters-in-law, Dowis and Penny Satterfield of Adairsville and Shae and Pam Satterfield of Holly Springs; nieces, Brandey Jenkins and Dixie Gail Satterfield of Adairsville; nephews, John (Amanda) Jenkins of Adairsville, D.J. Satterfield of Adairsville, Christopher and Avery Satterfield of Ranger; great niece and nephew, Jackson and Emsley Jenkins; mother-in-law, Bobbie Adcock of Adairsville and his dog Samson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at CanaanLand Christian Center, Adairsville with Rev. Harold Dale and Rev. Lamar Long officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville with military honors. Tony Leatherwood, Don Jenkins, Shane West, Billy Henon, John Kent, and Andy Lacey will serve as pallbearers and Billy Satterfield, Nick Satterfield, Frank Neal, Jr, Charles Autry, Jamie Long, Tim Redd, and Johnny Ray will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
