Obituary
Mr. James Harold Touchstone, Sr., age 94, of Hotel Street, Adairsville, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
He was born in Graysville, Georgia, on July 16, 1923, son of the late Lucius Gartrell Touchstone and Bertha Winkle Touchstone. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and a former clerk of the church. He was a veteran of World War II and retired from The Fairbanks Company. Harold was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-father who will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and mother of his children, Bessie Wright Touchstone and his late wife, Bonnie Cowart Touchstone; son, James Harold Touchstone, Jr.; brothers, Roosy, J.T., Nelson, Wilson, and Loyd Touchstone; sisters, Mildred Plemmons and Maedell Vaughan.
Survivors include his daughter, Lareeta and Gary Darling of Columbia, KY; daughter-in-law, Barbara Touchstone of Adairsville; grandchildren, Travis Darling of Columbia, KY, Tonya and Glenn Goodroe of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Jayla and Shane Serritt of Sugar Valley; great-grandchildren, Thomas Goodroe, Kristen Goodroe, Chandler Serritt, Alivia Serritt, Hailey Darling, Tyler Darling, and Madeline Darling; several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville, with Rev. Brent Tatum and Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers include Chuck Touchstone, Julian Touchstone, Garland Touchtone, Byron Touchstone, Joel Touchstone, and Thomas Kenney. Honorary pallbearers include Joseph Pfund, Doug Harris, Clayburn Crump, and Harold Buffington.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the church.
