Mrs. Marcilla Jane Cochran Eastwood, age 73, passes away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Hiram, Georgia.

Jane was born in Rome on November 30, 1949, and grew up in Adairsville, Georgia. She was the daughter of Louise Woody Cochran and William Henry Cochran both of Adairsville. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Ronald Eastwood and her brother Randy Cochran.

Jane graduated from Adairsville High School in May of 1967. She went on to earn a music degree from Shorter College that provided her great joy until the final weeks of her life. Her music took her to Paulding County High School where she served as Choral and Band Director. She made friends in Paulding County that she kept a lifetime. Throughout her life Jane used her musical talents to bring music to a number of churches throughout Georgia. She loved to play that piano and brought smiles to many faces with songs she played with enthusiasm such as I'll Fly Away!

In the mid 1980s Jane met Coosa High School Principal, Ron Eastwood. They fell head over heels in love and were married on October 20, 1984. Jane and Ron both took a minute to find the special person in their lives but once they met, they completed each other and remained in a loving relationship until Ron's sudden death on December 25, 2019. A huge part of their loving family was their son, Ronald Jacob who arrived in August of 1987. They were devoted to Jacob and watched proudly as his accomplishments filled their days with light.

Work took the family to Katy, Texas then back to Georgia to complete their years teaching in Murray County. Jane's life was never the same after Ron's death. Those of us that knew them take comfort in the blessed assurance that they are back together once again.

If the music in heaven seems a little more lyrical today, it is because Jane has found the piano and made her presence known. Fly away sweet Jane!

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:30AM at Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville, Georgia. Her ashes will be buried along with those of her loving husband near her parents.

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to Manor Lake Assisted Living in Hiram for the loving care they gave Jane during her last few months of life. Blessings to all of you.
